One person is dead and 3 people, including a firefighter, were injured in a massive fire at an apartment building in Norristown. The 4-alarm blaze broke out just before 1:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Norris Apartments in the 600 block of Swede Street. Firefighters responded to a report of fire in the basement. They arrived to find flames shooting from the second and third floors of the 6-story building.

A building on historic rue de la Huchette in the Latin Quarter caught fire in the early a.m. on Feb. 1, 2015, starting the month with a dramatic scene where eight people were in danger of losing their lives. FDNY firefighters and EMS members saved the lives of three young children from a fire on Loring Avenue in Brooklyn on July 29. “It’s what we strive to do every day and it’s a good thing to be able to save someone’s life,” Lt. Christopher Bedard, Ladder 107, said. “Everyone involved did a phenomenal job.”

I'm not sure if these are Richmond or Chesterfield crews on scene handling this incident. Apparently, someone jumped from the bridge and was then rescued. VA State Police Helicopter was called in to rescue and landed directly on the rocks of the James River. Pretty decent rescue if you ask me.

My first thought was the use of pompier ladders is exquisite. My second thought was I wish I paid attention in French class to know what this firefighter is saying. However, you can get a lot out of the video even if you don't understand French.

This is some amazing video of a worker who was stranded on the top floor of an apartment comlex that burned today in Houston. The man jumped down to the balcony on the level below him because the floor he was on was fully involved in flames. Firefighters utilizing an aerial ladder were able to reach him from there.

A Hamlin Firefighter says he was simply in the right place at the right time. Douglas Mcpherson says he was “just driving by” when he spotted an apartment fire in Middleport, New York on Wednesday.

Kafka said two MH-53 Sea Dragons belonging to the HM-14, a helicopter squadron based at Norfolk Naval Station, were on a training mission. One of the helicopters had to make an emergency landing into the water at approximately 11 a.m.
