A firefighter is reported (but unconfirmed) as being missing after a roof collapse at a Church fire today in Muncie, Indiana. The Tabernacle of Praise Church caught fire just before 4pm today at 2200 E. Fuson Road. The building was well involved with fire when the roof collapsed. At this point, it is believed that one firefighter is missing after the collapse.

I will admit it, I cannot stand panhandlers. It is illegal to panhandle where I live and that makes me happy. The reason why I cannot stand them is because typically they are unkempt and not pleasant to look at. Gary, Indiana has one of the most well dressed panhandlers. No, he is not wearing a tuxedo or even a suit. He is wearing his turnout gear and leather helmet. It is apparently very effective. He made $400 in just 4 hours on Sunday...that is $100 an hour. Not bad money. That is no way to live though.

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - At midnight Saturday morning, the Evansville Fire Department officially took over emergency runs in Knight Township, but before the torch was passed Knight Township fire fighters responded to one final call. The Knight Township Fire Department has been answering emergency calls in Evansville for the past 28 years, but their doors are now closed because of a lack of funding.

BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) - A probationary firefighter behind bars after caught scamming businesses. Police arrested 30-year-old Jeffrey Daughtery of Brazil, Ind. on Thursday for wearing unauthorized gear while scamming businesses out of items.

No firefighter or Fire Chief ever wants to hear the word "rekindle". The reason is because it makes us look incompetent. Whether or not the reason for the rekindle is our fault or not it is always blamed on us. Take for instance an arsonist who returns to finish the job. Unless the investigators can pinpoint the origin and cause of the second fire it will be considered a rekindle.

Carmel firefighters received the initial call about smoke and haze in the Dunkin' Donuts, 1300 block of South Rangeline Road, about 2:20 a.m. but were unable to find the cause after about an hour of searching the roof and ceiling with a thermal imaging camera, said department spokesman Bruce Knott.
