Fire Critic An Unadulterated View of the Fire Service
I decided to update the list of firefighter owned leather shops…err I thought I had published a list. Maybe…maybe not. I couldn’t find one. I have gotten to know many firefighters who own leather shops over the years. Their craftsmanship amazes me. So I put it out on Facebook and asked what YOUR favorite shop was! That was a week ago and you all amazed me at how many shops there are. I have finally caught up to the list. I believe the list is 72 shops…give or take a few.
One thing to note is that many of these shops have their own special design look. If you look through the list, you will find almost all of them excel in their craft and make excellent products. Another unique thing about these shops is that they share a part of their personal life on their Facebook pages. It is interesting to see who is creating your leather goods and how they do it!
So now, when someone asks where to get their new leather shield…I can point them here instead of naming off all of the ones on the top of my head.
By the way, I had no idea most of these shops even existed.
