The Best Firefighter Calendars for 2017

Each year, firefighters around the World get together to publish firefighter calendars. One thing can be said about these firefighters…they do a great job of taking care of themselves and should be commended for it. More than that, they are doing a great benefit to the fire service by supporting others through charity.

One of the calendars to close up shop this year is the America’s Female Fire Fighters Calendar. They were always a pleasure to bump into at trade shows and it is sad to see them go.

There are typically more available than what shows up on this list due to brand new calendars or those who take a year off. I do my best to find them all. The easiest way to make sure your calendar is included in the list is to make sure I know about it!

Hunks & Ladders

hunksI didn’t know about this calendar when I put this article together…so I will add it here unranked. It has been around since 1987. Through the calendar, firefighter combat challenges, and concerts, they support three charities. The calendar began in Dayton, Ohio and is comprised mostly of Firefighters from Ohio.

fwbFC Note: I included this calendar because much like all of the others, I appreciate the cause. However, at the time of publishing I hadn’t seen enough of the calendar yet.  However, I have since seen the photos from this calendar and can tell you it definitly would have been ranked higher!!!

We are dedicated to providing equipment, training and support for fire service agencies in need. We focus on sustainable support through strategic planning, onsite training of emergency services providers, members of the community, school children and families and ongoing support. Firefighters Without Borders looks beyond the immediate need, looking at long term, multi-staged projects if necessary, to ensure long term safety in the community. Fire prevention and public education programs are key components of our long term sustainability approach.

7. Charleston Area Firefighter Calendar

charlestonAs the lowcountry’s oldest and largest animal rescue organization, it is an honor to team with our community’s firefighters, our sponsors and our calendar work committee to produce the Firefighter Calendar. This project would not be possible without their generous support, hard work and dedication to this campaign. We are grateful to each and every one of them for making the Firefighter Calendar Campaign a reality.

Our first year, the 2014 Firefighter Calendar, raised over $100,000 and we are thrilled to report our 2015 Calendar raised over $250,000. All calendar sales and event proceeds benefit Toby’s Fund which provides medical care to treat thousands of injured, abused and abandoned animals. The success of this fundraiser is imperative for us to save lives. We are indebted to our local heroes who have given so freely of their time and energy to this project. Their participation, supported by our community’s fire chiefs, was reflective of their individual character and their departments. We want to thank each of them for their commitment to save the most vulnerable among us – helpless animals.

For us, firefighters of Utah, it’s more than a threat. In fact, 68% of firefighters fall victim to cancer.

We wanted to fight back for our friends and our family members who are affected by this disease – so we created the Utah Firefighter Calendar.

Now in our second year, we donate 100% of proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

Thank you for your support.

3. Saskatchewan Professional Firefighters Calendar

saskSince 1974 the Saskatchewan Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund has raised over $6 million to purchase equipment for our two provincial state of the art Burn Units; one at the Regina General Hospital and one at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. We also fund the Saskatchewan Professional Fire Fighters Hyperbaric Chamber at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital.

The Burn Fund provides continuing education for doctors and nurses in burn care and treatment, along with funding public awareness campaigns on burn prevention and safety and sending children to burn camp on a yearly basis. Our goal is to make a stay in the Burn Unit as short and as comfortable as possible. All funds raised in the province stay in the province for the purpose of fulfilling our mandate of burn care and treatment to the citizens of Saskatchewan.

As Fire Fighters, we know all too well how burn injuries change lives. The scars, both physical and mental, last a lifetime. It is our goal to do all we can to reduce the pain and suffering of those who fall victim to burn injuries as well as preventing these types of accidents through public education.

The individuals that appear in our calendar are real Fire Fighters, everyday heroes who risk their lives to save the lives and properties of total strangers. These Fire Fighters are donating their time to help increase awareness of the need for burn research and public education.
