Willie and I stuck out like sore thumbs...We rocked Alt Kilt custom kilts, our helmets with custom Box Alarm Leather helmet fronts, and MN8 shirts. It was a marketing idea we thought up and it worked!

I got to meet with several companies both during FDIC and since. Several of which I hope to be doing product reviews for very soon! If you are looking for having a product review for your product, check out more information here. I spoke with Major Mack of The Bowring today on the phone. They are sending me their product to review shortly. There's was one of the busier boothes at FDIC. I think the product looks like a potential tool that years from now will be a staple in "What's in Your Pockets" discussions!

Last night, I joined many other friends at the meetup at Indy. The meetup was hosted by Fire Rescue Magazine, Firefighter Nation, and FireEMSBlogs.com and sponsored by ISI and Black Helmet Apparel. It is always fun hanging out with friends and meeting new ones.

Willie Wines Jr. and I are heading to Baltimore for the Meetup at EMS Today. Our stay will be short and we aren't even sure if we will make it to the exhibit hall on Friday or have to head home early yet. However, if you are in Baltimore and want to catch up with us and network with so many other bloggers and EMS professionals plan to attend the meetup. These meetups that are at the various Fire and/or EMS conferences are a blast. They are typically hosted by JEMS, Fire Rescue Magazine, FireEMSBlogs.com, or Firefighter Nation and are well enjoyed by many. Don't worry, you don't have to be a member or blogger of those networks...just plan on coming and having fun!

I will be teaching a class on Social Media for the Fire Service at FDIC this year. The class is titled "Social Media: The Fire Service's Next Big Innovation" Who should attend? Anyone interested in social media, blogging, and branding their department online. Administrators who want to learn about social media, get examples of social media policies, as well as firefighters who want to brand their companies and departments. There will be information for all levels!

We were able to record about 10 individual podcasts. Many were produced for Tim Sendlebach and his crew at Fire Rescue Magazine. A couple others for Dave Statter and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The audio for the NFFF will be available later on Firefighter Netcast. Art Goodrich was able to record a couple as well. He actually got to interview Rob Schnepp (Cyanokit) and Steven Pasquale. You might know Steven from his roll as "White Sean" or Sean Garrity on Rescue me.

We will be producing 5 hours of short podcasts for the crew at Fire Rescue Magazine and we will be producing some short podcasts for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.

Maybe I am just in the right place at the right time when it comes to these things! America's Female Firefighters (AFF) will be debuting their 2011 calendar in Chicago August 27-28 at Fire Rescue International (FRI). Guess who will also be at FRI. This guy!

Writers want people to read our stuff. Whether you are writing a book, a blog, an article, or a comment we want it to be read. With that being said we have to be responsible for what we write and have the balls to stand up for it. Cindy wrote it and published it...it is history now.
