Custom Firehouse Kitchen Table – Fairfield Township, Ohio

Jason Agoston sent this table in from Engine 212 and Medic 212 "House on the Hill" in Fairfield Township, Butler County, Ohio. They claim this might be the heaviest table in any firehouse. Jason and two other firefighters built the table themselves. It measures 8'x4', with a 2'x4' frame, sheet of plywood covered by oak flooring. The base is two Darling hydrants. They then coated it with the same stuff they put on basketball courts.

Turning a Fire Station into a Firehouse


This day in age, new fire stations seem more like the inside of a school or jail than a firehouse from back in the day...Wood trim, wood floors, two-story, cozy and warm firehouses have been replaced with concrete or tile floors, cinder-block walls, single story, institutionalized fire stations. My crew has found a way to make our fire station more like a firehouse...through our own hard work and dedication.

Firefighters Build Custom Kitchen Table for Cimmaron Hills FD


Driver/Engineer Karl Larsen sent in these pictures of the table that they built for the station. Some of the specifications are: 5' x10' built on 1.5"x1.5" steel frame. The top is 3x4" solid oak hard wood with 1/2" mdf underlayment. The legs are 5" LDH. The center of the table has 12 outlets, the CHFD lights up red with L.E.D's when we recieve a call.

Life at #3 Fire Prevention, Our Custom Kitchen Table, Working on Thanksgiving, Getting Ready for Christmas, and Life Around the Station


I will be working tomorrow (Thanksgiving Day). We will hopefully watch the parades and enjoy kicking back a little bit. We get to take it easy on Holidays. I will again be riding the seat as my Captain will have the day off on vacation. If everything goes well, we will be getting a Thanksgiving meal dropped off. If everything goes bad, we will have a contingency plan. I will let you know what plan B is when I figure it out!

Another Custom Firehouse Kitchen Table. Share Yours With The Fire Critic


Attached are a couple of photos of our new dining table. It was designed and constructed by one of our firefighters here at our station, FF Charles Osvold. This table is located at Marion County Fire Rescue Station #21 “The Sleepless Knights”, the busiest house in Marion County, Florida. We are listed in Firehouse magazine as one of the nation’s top 100 busiest stations. The table measures twelve feet long by four feet wide.
