On Monday, December 21, 2015 at 5:13 am, The Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company, along with mutual aid companies, was dispatched for what would become a Two (2) Alarm dwelling fire at 8966 Bakers Lane. The dwelling in question was a tenant house on the William Loller poultry farm. This area, located between Chestertown and Fairlee, is rural and not protected by fire hydrants. The first unit responded at 5:17 am and arrived at 5:26 am to find a 2-story farm house with fire showing. The house is believed to be at least 100 years old. – Continue reading…
