Video: LACoFD 2 Alarm Commercial Fire on July 4th (2 Videos)

Video info: At approximately 10 pm on the 4th of July, LACoFD was dispatched to 76th St & Maie Ave in 16’s first in & upon arrival found the back end of a large metal clad commercial building fully involved with exposures. The fire originated in large piles of mattresses outside of a mattress store and was said to be caused by juveniles with illegal fireworks. 4 firefighters were injured during the fire which took about 2 hours to knock down.

A fireman can be seen giving a dog caught in the fire water to cool off his burns. CHP CAD notes are this fire was possibly started by fireworks. Fire under investigation. -LLN

About 75 Los Angeles County firefighters battled a second-alarm blaze tonight in two metal commercial buildings in the Florence area in which one person was injured, a department official said.
The fire was reported at 9:41 p.m. at 7522 Maie Ave., the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Brian Jordan said.
The building houses a mattress factory or warehouse, Jordan said. He did not know if the injured person was a civilian or a firefighter. -CNS
