Video: Buckeye Tavern Burns in Lower Macungie, PA (2 Videos)

Video above by: newsworking. Video info: At 19:34 Lehigh County Radio transmitted the box for a structural fire at the Buckeye Tavern, 3741 Brookside Road sending Wescosville Station 30, Macungie Engines 1511, 1512 and EMS 63.

Chief 15-01 signaled a working fire from Tank Farm Road at 19:37. Chief 30 went on location at 19:42 and took command of the fire scene.

As the fire rapidly expanded throughout the second floor and attic, the 2nd alarm was requested by command.

At 19:47, the second alarm was transmitted sending Engine 7, 28, 1, Ladder 7, Cascade 32 and Engine 10 from the City of Allentown for the F.A.S.T.

Multiple large hand lines and monitors were put in-service. Tower Ladder 30 was set up in the parking lot on the south side of the building using their elevated stream and Ladder 7’s water-pipe was in service on the north side of the building.

Firefighters concentrated their efforts on a defensive attack and at 21:32 the fire was declared under control by command.

Video below by: Mike Nester. Video info: Tuesday evening crews were dispatched to the Buckeye Tavern on Brookside Road for a reported structure fire, first arriving officer reports a working fire. Several minutes into the fight a 2nd alarm was struck and crews went into a defensive posture. Crews had heavy fire on the top floors and through the roof with a total collapse of the upper levels multiple master streams and elevated streams were placed in service to knock the fire. Crews had the fire under control in about an hour however would remain on scene most of the night to make sur the fire is completely out and for the investigation…..
