Fire Critic An Unadulterated View of the Fire Service

Video info: 6-16-2013 Los Angeles Firefighters, Task Force 64, Engine 65, Battalion 13 first on scene at 9219 South Central Avenue reported a two story, apartments over commercial building with fire and smoke showing. Firefighters laddered the building in front and quickly made entry. Firefighters also advanced handlines to the rear of the building attacking a fire in a carport/storage/utility area that had spread to a second story apartment in front and an adjacent one story apartment unit next door. The main bulk of fire was knocked down in 30 minutes. Firefighters spent the next hour chasing down smoldering hot spots in the walls and attic of the involved structures. Red Cross was notified of displaced persons from the apartments. There were no reported injuries, the cause of the late night fire is under investigation -MNR-
