PETERBOROUGH, N.H. —An explosion was reported Monday afternoon at New Hampshire Ball Bearings in Peterborough.

Officials said 15 people were injured. Police said two of the injuries were serious, and those two were flown from the scene. NHBB officials said they were told the injuries were not life-threatening.

Area firefighters were responding to an explosion that may have injured multiple people at a manufacturing plant in Peterborough Monday afternoon.

The explosion took place at New Hampshire Ball Bearings, at 175 Jaffrey Rd. in Peterborough, N.H..

The Jaffrey Fire Department tweeted that their units had been dispatched to the address after a report of a “major explosion.”

According to Peterborough Town Manager Nicole MacStay, the explosion happened at around 3:30 p.m. Monday. McStay said there are reports of between eight and 10 people injured.
