Nine Firefighters died in a fire at a warehouse fire that contained archives of bank documents in Buenos Aires, Argentina this morning. The firefighters were caught in a collapse of the building.

Nine people were killed this morning while working to extinguish a fire in the neighborhood of barracks. As confirmed by the Secretary of Homeland Security, Sergio Berni , the dead aresix firefighters from the Federal Police, a volunteer of the quarter of La Boca and two members of Civil Defense.

The operation consisted of the Superintendent of Fire (100 men, barracks 1 and 2), theSuperintendent of Metropolitan Security (50 men working on traffic and safety) Volunteer Fire San Telm or (2 fire engines and 20 men); Volunteer Firefighters La Boca (3 allocations between 10 and 30 men each), the Department for Assistance to Victims of PFA , a police helicopter Federa l, the head of the PFA, Commissioner General Román di Santo , the SAME ( 30 ambulances) and staff of Civil Defense.

Nine first-responders were killed, seven others injured and two were missing as they battled a fire of unknown origin that destroyed an archive of bank documents in Argentina’s capital on Wednesday.

The fire at the Iron Mountain warehouse took hours to control and the sprawling building appeared to be ruined despite the efforts of at least 10 squads of firefighters.

The nine firefighters and civil defense workers were crushed when a brick wall collapsed on top of a large group of first-responders on the sidewalk and street outside, Argentina’s Security Secretary Sergio Berni said.

Firefighters, the Federal and Metropolitan police forces, Civil Defense forces and the SAME emergency service crew were working at the site of the tragedy.
