PORT DEPOSIT — An intense two-alarm fire ripped through a one-story, single-family home Friday afternoon despite the efforts of responding fire companies.
The fire at a house in the 1000 block of Bainbridge Road near Port Deposit was reported about 12:17 p.m. on Friday, according to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal. A neighbor reportedly called 911 after spotting the fire.
Crews from Perryville, Water Witch, the Susquehanna Hose Company, Level, Perry Point, North East, Rising Sun and Charlestown battled the fire, which took 70 minutes to bring under control, the fire marshal said. Thirty-two firefighters responded, according to the report.
