Fire Officers and Firefighters are invited to visit North Carolina’s Capital City for the 2013 South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo. The event will once again be held in Downtown Raleigh at the Raleigh Convention Center, conveniently located near restaurants, a free downtown bus system, hotels and exciting night life.

2013 marks the fifth year for the annual Conference and Expo in Raleigh. The Conference is a joint meeting of the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association and North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs.

The South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo continues to grow as a destination fire service event, appealing to a regional audience outside of the Tar Heel state. Raleigh is easily accessible by car, rail or plane. The “City of Oaks” is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with a current population of over 423,000.

The Expo will appeal to both new and old firefighters, featuring over 150,000 square feet of the latest gear, apparatus and tools for the fire rescue industry.

The Expo is open from 10:00am – 5:00pm on Friday, August 9 and from 9:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday, August 10. Day passes for the Expo are available for either day for just $15.00.

The BURN Documentary will be featured twice during the Expo, once on Wednesday night and once on Thursday afternoon. Cast Members and Producers will be available to meet at both showings.

Hands on Training will start Wednesday, August 8th featuring key classes emphasizing Engine Company excellence and Truck Company Operations among other choices.

A new event this year will be the BBQ Throwdown, fielding fire department teams cooking North Carolina’s most traditional fare. Celebrity judges will help decide the winners and trophies will be awarded. A friendly Cornhole tournament will be held during the cooking.
