Fire Critic An Unadulterated View of the Fire Service
The other week it began…
“Did you hear about the porn star at Cave Spring?”
yeah, yeah, yeah…most men who I have met in the fire service have joked at one point in time that if they were “more endowed” they would move to California and become a porn star…I am certain that is the only thing keeping them from it.
The rumor mill fired up with reports that an ex-porn star was volunteering here locally.

A local tv station decided to jump on the news recently after the whole Buchanan drama unfolded. They posted the original story here with follow up here. You might credit Willie Wines Jr. with shedding light on this and putting it out in front of us. [Porn Star or Felon…Which Do You Want in Your Station??].
What I find interesting is that when WDBJ7 reported on the Buchanan Drama they didn’t report on the Felons in the fire service there or elsewhere locally. Why not? Is it acceptable to be a felon firefighter? I don’t think so and have written about it in the past here, here, and here on FireCritic.com.
Why make an issue of being a “porn star” which is not illegal, but glancing over the whole “Felon” thing…? Is it simply media hype. Why not give credit to where you found the news of the gasp…”porn star” as well?
Do we need to investigate everyone’s previous employment and offer it up for public scrutiny? Apparently, Harmony Rose passed her background check fine.
