All I really have to say is thank you all for representing the fire service in remembering our Fallen Brothers and all who died that day. Your preservation of memorial events will help younger Americans and others in remembering and learning about what happened on September 11, 2001. #RFB

I have taught my children about what happened. It is important to me that they understand the importance of the day. This past year I took my family to Ground Zero. I was amazed by their knowledge, reverence, and questions about that day.

It Is Important That We Climb. We Remember. We Never Forget. We Honor Our Fallen. We Support The Survivors. We Share Our Experience So That Others Understand. That Is Enough For Me.

Seriously guys...The Charlotte Stair Climb sold out in 30 minutes. There better be 343 of us on the stairs on September 11th and at every other climb this year!

I CHALLENGE Every Chief and Firefighter attending Fire Rescue International to at least register to climb. Whether you cannot physically climb, or have another conflicting event, you should register to climb and donate the $25.

This year's Firehouse Expo 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb was a great experience for me. Not only was it a return to the first place I climbed (my first was 3 years ago at Expo), but this time my wife joined me for the climb (her first time).

It didn't matter how we got there...we finished. As a matter of fact, we had 450 climbers this year. It is the first time I have climbed and had 343+ climbers.

A year ago today, I was in New York City, right next to Ground Zero...In one of the hotels that overlooks the site. I climbed to remember. I was honored to climb 110 stories within feet of where our Brothers climbed on September 11th. The same Brothers we continue to climb for each year.
