This video documents the lessons learned during a close call experienced by members of the Virginia Beach Fire Department at a residential house fire that resulted in two civilian fatalities and injuries to four Firefighters.

Firefighters were injured today in two separate incidents. Texas firefighters were injured in a house fire with roof collapse and Virginia Firefighters were injured in a deadly house fire where two were rescued.

Kafka said two MH-53 Sea Dragons belonging to the HM-14, a helicopter squadron based at Norfolk Naval Station, were on a training mission. One of the helicopters had to make an emergency landing into the water at approximately 11 a.m.

Virginia Beach VA Firefighters rescue a worker off a water tower today on Chantry Drive. The worker was hanging about 120 feet off the ground.

The firefighter who died in the line of duty in Easton, Connecticut has been identified as Lt. Russ Neary. The incident occurred around 7:45pm on Monday night as Hurricane Sandy hit landfall.

At this point in time, Virginia Task Force 1 has two teams operating in Haiti assisting with rescue operations following the 7.0 earthquake. USA-1 is the original heavy response team of 72 members which arrived in Haiti on the 13th. USA-2 Medium is the 36-42 member team which arrived in Haiti this morning (15th). Virginia Task Force 2 has one team of 80 members which should have arrived in Haiti last night or this morning.
