The video states: The 4 alarm fire was in Uxbridge, MA on Kasey Court shortly before 7:30pm on April 10, 2012. The original call came in as a grill on fire but when firefighters arrived, the fire had extended to the house.

I am not exactly sure what is going on here, but the videographer or the person who loaded the video has something for the female firefighter who is venting the roof. All I could think was that I would have taken a saw instead of an axe...work smarter not harder! Oh and a helmet might have helped as well!

Here is a video from Charlotte. The firefighters vent the roof over the fire in a 1 1/2 story residential dwelling.

Here is something you rarely see in my department. Venting the roof on a single family dwelling. It isn't that we don't want to do it and it isn't that we don't know how to do it. It is more of a culture of firefighting that hasn't included venting roofs on SFD's.
