It is no secret that I love my Phenix TL-2 leather helmet. I just received a brand new TL-2 Miller 1884 and have been wearing it for a couple of weeks. My love of Phenix helmets is an interesting relationship...and one that I share with a few of the great fire service companies across the Nation.

To celebrate their 40th successful year in business Phenix Technology, Inc., also known as Phenix Fire Helmets, is giving away NFPA compliant firefighter helmets to two fire departments.

Here are the Top Ten Christmas Gifts for 2012. This is a blog feature I have been doing for the past several years. The list has changed a little bit because of all the great products/companies that I want to share. Therefore, I have put some similar products into categories of gifts. This gives more ideas for everyone to look at.

The benefit was first and foremost about the Brotherhood in SD, and the firefighters having a good time. The byproduct of that was to raise money for the National Firefighters endowment and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Captain Wines (IronFiremen.com) and I just got back from an epic journey in South Dakota. Our trip consisted of flying into Rapid City, SD and traveling across the State to Sioux Falls. It culminated with the South Dakota Firefighters Benefit. Our journey took us to over a dozen firehouses across South Dakota. We also got to see Mt. Rushmore, corn, and soy beans...
