So many firefighters have been fighting for collective bargaining for years...and now that fight has swayed to keep collective bargaining for the ones who already have it. Now our pensions are under attack. Our pensions, and our salaries are being scapegoated as the reason for budget deficits. We are the problem according to some.

I'll admit that I have slow days. However, I post when I am able to. I took the 24th and 25th off, but quickly caught up! You should be keeping up with me at least...yes I am speaking to both of you (my readers)! There are some other links in there from some other sites as well!

I just got finished reading the chapter on Michael Goff in "Last Alarm" by Jerry Laughlin. The book was published in 1986 and features 5 true stories about firefighters who died in the line of duty. Michael Goff, a Petersburg (VA) Sergeant was killed when a wall collapsed on him following an explosion at an apartment complex. The explosion also injured many firefighters, EMT's, and civilians (some who had just been rescued).

This is amazing...Xenia (Oh) City Council doesn't know why firefighters don't understand that the City is under an economic crisis and want them to buy their own turnout gear. Xenia is the self proclaimed City of Hospitality!!!
