Firefighters from eight fire departments battled a 1-alarm fire at an auto shop in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

The Oostburg Fire Department responded to Carlton Automotive, located at 1318 Center Avenue in the Village of Oostburg, around 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 23rd for a report of an oil barrel on fire in the garage. By the time firefighters arrived on scene, the fire had spread to other parts of the shop. Firefighters reported heavy black smoke and flames showing. The fire went to a 1-alarm and seven additional fire departments were called to assist at the scene.

It took firefighters about an hour to control the blaze but still encountered flare ups for another 90 minutes. No injuries were reported.

Fire departments from Oostburg, Cedar Grove, Kohler, Waldo, Town of Wilson, Cascade, Haven and Plymouth responded to the scene as well as Oostburg Ambulance and Town of Wilson First Responders.
