Help Get Wheels For Bill! Create a quick video and share it!

Put the FUN in FUNDRAISING to get Wheels for Bill. That’s right, HelpTheGoodGuys.org is helping purchase a van for Captain William “Iron Bill” Dowling. Iron Bill was the most seriously injured firefighter in a deadly fire that left 4 Houston firefighters dead and 10 injured. You can create a video like above to get people to download Aaron Tippin’s song “One of the Good Guys”. Read on…

Message below from Alvin W. White, Jr., President – HPFFA, Local 341:

The tragic events of May 31, 2013 remain in the hearts and minds of our Local 341 brothers and sisters – indeed, it affected many across the nation. To this end, several close friends of “Iron Bill” Dowling, along with others who have never had the opportunity to meet him, are leading a new effort to assist him and his family.

The Dowling family needs assistance in purchasing transportation in order to assist Bill when he travels. As you can imagine, this is a convenience that many of us take for granted. A local charity, Firefighters Helping Firefighters, began the effort with a “Wheels For Bill” campaign. Still, after months of fundraising efforts, the Dowlings are short of their goal.

Help the Good Guys, a Tennessee-based charity at the forefront of efforts to assist first responders across the nation, enlisted the help of country music star Aaron Tippin. Tippin has written a song to honor Bill, and all first responders – “One of the Good Guys.” Help the Good Guys founder Mickey Milam tells us the proceeds from this song will help the Dowling family secure the customized van they so desperately need.

YOU CAN HELP! Please click HERE and download “One of the Good Guys.” It’s a great song for a great cause. Forward this e-mail to your friends and contacts and encourage them to do the same.

Bill’s friends at Houston Fire Station 19 “B Shift” have made a Video Challenge, asking others to video creative ways to raise funds for Bill. Also, Aaron Tippin will be live on The Michael Berry Show (iHeart Radio) this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. to talk about his inspiration behind the song.

THANK YOU! Together, we can positively impact the lives of those who take care of ours.

Fraternally,
Alvin W. White, Jr.
