The Rexmere Hotel in Stamford, NY burned down to the ground yesterday.
In less than an hour, the 7 story building built in 1897 was gone. The building was in the process of being sold.
The call came in as an automatic fire alarm. Two caretakers who lived at the house were not there when the alarm came in.
I was told that the fire went to 6 alarms. There were 300+ firefighters on scene from 15+ departments in Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie and Greene Counties.
