Dallas Firefighter William Scott Tanksley, 40, Died in the Line of Duty last night while operating on an icy overpass in Dallas, Texas. Tanksley was a 14 year veteran of the department. He leaves behind a wife and three children between the ages 4-12. Tanksley was stationed at firehouse #12.

Updated at 10:18 p.m.: Dallas Fire-Rescue reported that the firefighter who fell from Spur 408 on Monday evening has died.
William Scott Tanksley, a long-time DFR firefighter, was killed while assisting in a motor vehicle accident.

The firefighter was working an accident atop the Spur 408 bridge when he fell off the overpass and onto Interstate-20. It was at least 30 feet fall, if not more.
Right now it is unclear if the firefighter slipped on the wet or icy road, or was forced off the overpass by a vehicle.
