Mike McCarthy of Black Hat Radio sends us another photo stating “The Members of Forsyth County Fire Station 14 and thier families push in thier new tiller truck. The moment it went in service, the truck was banged out to it’s first job.” I don’t buy it…this is either the case of budget cuts and leaving out a motor, or their county is in need of child labor laws. Look at the one firefighter with one arm behind his back…no effort, yet the kids are giving it their all!
Jason Myer sends in this picture of Victoria FD Engine 2 in Victoria, Texas. Apparently double parking is legal down in Texas. Where is Chuck Norris when you need him?
Dan Purcell writes “I’ve been on the job 25 years here and you and Willie have reminded me why I love my job so much. The attached photo is of our renovated Scarsdale, NY Station 2 with Ladder 28, Engine 56, and car 2432. We are IAFF Local 1394. Thanks for your blog, and be safe, brother.” WOW…What a huge compliment. We appreciate it, but you probably tell all the bloggers that!
Jaden Gladstone sends us a pic of Norwich, Vermont Ladder 1. We think the photo was taken just prior to Jaden being run over…
Stefan Svennson sent this picture in and states “Here are a couple of Swedish rigs. The Mercedes is not standard, but still pretty good for a rural area with mainly medical calls, car accidents and smaller fires. The Honda is the commanding officers car (this is the one I usually drive). Also, within my response are I have a “standard” engine as well (but I couldn’t find any pictures of it).” Guys, Stefan is the commander, he probably doesn’t see the engine much as they probably hide from him most of the day!
Scotty Bush sent in the photos above and below. Above is Hendersonville, TN Truck 3 sitting in front of the Capitol building in Nashville. Below is a picture of Engine 3 as taken from the platform of Truck 3. Apparently once up in the bucket, Scotty missed the engine so much he had to take a photo of it!
Marshall DeMeritt sent in these photos of Shepherdstown, WV: Above is Rescue Engine 3 in front of McMurran Hall of Shepherd University. Below is the same Rescue Engine 3 being put to use at a car fire. It is great to see full PPE being worn at a car fire (seriously)!…but it is a Ford, you could let it burn! Chief Adrian Borry sent in this photo stating we needed some real “old work horses” in the “random rigs”. This is a 1968 American LaFrance his family owns. Adrian retired from the department she originally served in. The “Liberty” was in service from 1969-2002 with her original department and then went to another department and served until 2007. Beautiful rig Adrian! Rory Zach sent in these two pictures. Above is from Sayreville, NJ; Engine 7 is a 1992 Pierce 1500/750. Rory spent 36 years there before moving to Virginia Beach. Below is his current volunteer department in Carrollton, VA. The Engine is Carrollton Engine 10; 2010 E-One 1500/1000.
Firemans Chore President Scottie DeArmond sent in this photo: “My 1955 Maxim J Model built for Indianapolis Fire Department Engine 5. You might remember seeing it every year at the FOOLS Bash during FDIC.” Yes, I believe I have drank some beers next to that rig!
Justin Lynch sent in this photo of Tess Corners Volunteer FD KME 102′ ladder truck. This thing has its own zip code!
Michael Lambertus sent in Engine 4 from Brookings, South Dakota. I wonder if Willie and I will be stopping by Brookings in September?
Grantham NH sent in by Justin McMahon.
North Stelton Piscataway, New Jersey District 4…Chief….wait for it, wait for it, wait for it….WE NEED A HUMVEE! Looks like fun!
Dustin Courter writes: “Sorry I missed you guys at FRI. Here is E-251 at the burning tree fire (2011) in Parker, CO. 2400 gallons, CAFS, 6×6, seats 7, Loaded with microwave and industrial coffee maker in cab! Facebook: Rattlesnake Fire and Rescue Thanks, be safe.” Ha, eat that FireGeezer, they have an onboard bunn-o-matic!
The picture above and two below are from Doug Kennedy of Maroa Countryside Fire Protection District (Illinois). Above is Engine 19. Below is the brand new Rescue 18.

New command vehicle submitted by Kyle Swinamer. I have narrowed the dept. down to Canada (see the flag sticker). I have also realized that they secretly love EMS because of the way they spelled EUCSER ERIF on the front of the truck like we spell ECNALUBMA in the States.
