A year ago today, I was in New York City, right next to Ground Zero...In one of the hotels that overlooks the site. I climbed to remember. I was honored to climb 110 stories within feet of where our Brothers climbed on September 11th. The same Brothers we continue to climb for each year.

What has been interesting is how on Sunday, Rescuing Providence has narrowed the almost 150 vote lead by A Day in the Life of An Ambulance Driver to less than 100 votes. Last year, we saw the majority of the votes in the last two days. Anything can happen. It all depends on who is pulling for who and how many votes you can get (obviously).

Over the past several years, I have created several web sites. The Fire Critic has remained one of my favorites. The past several weeks has brought clarity to its purpose. In an effort to move the site forward, I have decided to update more often with videos, articles, and whatever else is new or interesting in the fire service. What this means to you is that you will have to check back more often to see what is new and/or scroll down further to see what you have missed!

I am working today. We had an eventful morning running about 5 calls in about 4 hours. Mostly the usual and a pickup truck on fire on the interstate. Needless to say that people CANNOT drive! After lunch and a little bit of training I was trying to tie up some loose ends and I took a step into the watch room. I nearly lost my lunch when I walked in and found one of our Firefighter/Medics reading.....
