1-10-2018 LAFD 26’s & 15’s first on scene at 1711 South New Hampshire Avenue reported fire showing from the second floor of a large two story house. With flames showing on the the south side and heavy smoke pushing from the front Los Angeles Firefighters forced entry on the second floor, attacking the fire with several handlines.

6-8-2014 Task Force 15, Engine 46 first on scene reported a house in the rear of a single story, single family dwelling on the 1200 block of West 37th Drive fully involved. L.A. Firefighters quickly laid lines and knocked down the fire in 20 minutes. An exposure to the east also sustained fire damage on it's roof. There were no reported injuries, the cause of the early morning blaze is under investigation.

L.A. Firefighters were dispatched to the 200 block of East 47th Place reported a single story, single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing. Firefighters forced entry through iron bars on the doors and windows and attacked the fire with interior hose-lines.

As with most videos of fires I post, I think this one has some training bits in it. I don't like armchair quarterbacking fires I wasn't at, but I do like sharing videos that might have something to help provide some training talk.

Los Angeles Firefighters first on scene at 328 West 82 Street reported smoke showing from the rear of a single story, single family dwelling.

LAFD's Eric Johnson of Ladder 63 rescued a seagull from a tree on the beach. The bird got caught in some fishing line and ended up suspended from a palm tree. The first video shows the bird get rescued and towards the end is an impromptu interview of the firefighter who made the rescue. Apparently this is not the first bird rescue for firefighter Johnson.

This year, I made a pact that I would honor ALL of the Line of Duty Deaths. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I didn't know it would be this hard. I fell behind about a week ago and have not been able to catch up. Then today, another LODD in Los Angeles. Failure is not an option...and I realize that there are plenty of other notifications that assist firefighters in following along with LODD's. My point was not to compete, but merely to supplement their information with whatever I could find at the time.

This fire occurred on Friday, January 21st. The house was located at 1324 Sutherland Street in the Echo Park area.
