Update: Banned Firefighters Now Allowed to March in the Savannah, GA St. Patrick’s Day Parade

This year, merely two weeks before the parade, the Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee banned all fire departments marching under the Our Nation's Firefighter's application out of the parade. The group "Our Nation's Firefighters" is headed up by Jim Grismer, is a catch all group that helps in the logistics of travelling firefighters as well as local departments who would like to march in the parade.

Badge Vs. Badge…oh AND Badge Vs. Badge Ring Girls!

Badge vs. Badge is the only organization where Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters can fight for a sanctioned State, USA Title, and be ranked under the IAB, International Amateur Boxing. [according to their site] The boxers are law enforcement and firefighters. This is apparently open to all LEO and Firefighters across the US. For the most part, it appears as though the fights are set on the West Coast. The next event is May 14th, 2011 at the Sacremento Radisson.

Video: Fire Truck Runs over Protester in Egypt

Watch this video as a fire truck is seen hitting a protester/pedestrian in Egypt. There isn't much more information available. I will say this...As unrest continues to spread through Egypt, I can only imagine how difficult it is for firefighters to do their jobs. Obviously, this action is inexcusable, but it is hard to imagine what working in these conditions is like.
