Video: Apartment Fire w/ 2 Rescued by Ground Ladder in Modesto

In the early morning hours of Saturday, February 14, a fire broke out at an apartment complex on Campus Way trapping two women in their apartment bathroom. Two Modesto Firefighters, Jesse Miguel and Jason Wyatt from Modesto Fire Truck 1, rescued the women via ladders; these two firefighters are being recognized tonight at the Modesto City Council meeting which will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the basement of 1010 Tenth Street.

What the Fire Service Can Learn From Brian Williams’ Suspension

Years ago in my department there was a huge fire in very cold temperatures. Over the years, I have heard from dozens of guys tell the story very similarly that they were frozen to the top of a ladder truck flowing water. They were up there so long, their gear froze to the ladder. To be honest, I wasn't there. I have no clue who was there. I know for a fact that 20 guys couldn't have been frozen to the tip of that ladder at once.

Video: Apartment Fire With Multiple Rescues in Norristown, PA (5 Videos)

One person is dead and 3 people, including a firefighter, were injured in a massive fire at an apartment building in Norristown. The 4-alarm blaze broke out just before 1:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Norris Apartments in the 600 block of Swede Street. Firefighters responded to a report of fire in the basement. They arrived to find flames shooting from the second and third floors of the 6-story building.
