Video Coverage: Sandone Tire Warehouse Burns in Scranton, PA (8 Videos)

Scranton Firefighters are on scene of a fire at a large warehouse building used to store around 5000 tires. They have been there since 5 pm last night.

A fire at a tire warehouse in central Scranton may take two days to extinguish, Scranton Fire Chief Patrick DeSarno said tonight. Flames burst through the roof just before midnight. Shortly after, the middle of the building began to collapse into itself.

Firefighters have been battling the blaze at the Sandone Tire warehouse, 702 Wyoming Ave., since about 5 p.m. Between 4,000 and 5,000 tires are on fire at the warehouse; officials estimated that the building contains about 20,000 tires.
