Investigators are searching for the cause of a fire that destroyed a church on Chicago’s West Side on Saturday. More than 100 firefighters rushed to the Unity Church of God in Christ in the Austin community.
Hours after the fire started, firefighters remained on the scene, pouring water on hot spots in the century-old church. Across the street members of the Unity Church of God watch helplessly as their place of worship and home of so many memories is destroyed.
