Fire Critic An Unadulterated View of the Fire Service
Video by: Frank Wesnoski. Video info: Springfield Twp Delaware County, Pennsylvania USA. Company 44 was dispatched for a building fire at 339 E Leamy Ave in Springfield at about 20:00 hours. Police arrived on location reporting a working fire and confirmed entrapment. 44 Command requested several additional companies and an additional RIT. Once on location they found a 2 ½ story dwelling with wind driven fire showing from the 1st and 2nd floor. Shortly after arrival the roof of a large wrap around porch collapsed. 2 crews attacked the exterior porch fire while 2 additional crews advanced a 1 ½ in via the rear of the house and conducted a primary search. An elderly resident was found in the house DOA. Heavy snow from a recent storm made the attack more difficult, especially throwing ladders and advancing lines. 1 FF was injured fighting the fire.
