An elderly woman found unresponsive but breathing after a fire broke out in her residence at Springfield’s Chatham Hills Apartments was taken by ambulance to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
The woman’s condition was not immediately known.
The fire broke out in the two-story, eight-unit apartment building on Candlewood Drive, off Chatham Road south of Wabash Avenue, about 4:20 p.m.
