Fire Critic An Unadulterated View of the Fire Service
On the 28th, Firefighters from across Berks County, PA and beyond got together and paraded past Deputy Chief Ron “Moose” Wenztel’s house. Moose is currently battling brain cancer and his doctors have exhausted all treatments for him.
His Brothers have been keeping an eye on him and helping out. They have something else special planned for him this evening (New Years Eve)…Moose, if you are reading this it is a secret!

I am sure you may not have heard about Ron Wentzel from the Reading Department of Fire and Western Berks Fire Department (both in Berks County, PA). Ron has been fighting brain cancer for several years. Supporters have been lifting him up on a new face book page and today numerous local departments staged a surprise parade to lift his spirits. I started my firefighting career volunteering with Ron and will always value his friendship. His supporters are trying to get as many likes on the face book page as possible.
