I’m going to the CMA’s with Kidde for “Be A Safety Hero”, Plus info on SOTF, NFE’s DetroitMutualAid.com, and Hosed: The Movie

I spent the last week without a computer. It was frustrating at times, but actually gave me some time to focus on some other things. Needless to say, I have a lot of catching up to do!

This is an update on what is going on in the world of Fire Critic and beyond…

First of all, The Fire Critic Facebook page reached 70,000+ Fans on Facebook recently. The growth has been amazing. The past two or three months have been down right shocking at how many people have seen what The Fire Critic is all about and “liked” it. I said it once, and I will say it again. When I reach 100k, I will give away a Leather helmet.

I have a lot of “Mutual Aid Questions” to get to and I will. Give me a week or two to get caught up!

On November 6th, I will be in Nashville for the Country Music Awards. More importantly, on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. I will be at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum (Curb Courtyard along Demonbreun St.) for the kickoff of the “Be a Safety Hero” campaign along with Kidde, Country Music Star Craig Morgan, Kix Brooks, Ron Siarnicki (NFFF), and many others. I will be covering the event as a fire service media outlet to share it with you all.

Captain Wines will also be joining me on the way to Nashville.

If you would like to meetup, be there at 10:30 am! I don’t know what all is planned that day, but maybe we can all grab a beer afterwards.

National Firefighters Endowment

The National Firefighters Endowment has unveiled one of their largest campaigns to date. The program is hoping to sell t-shirts, raise money, partner with companies, and get everyone involved in sharing the program in order to get supplies to several Detroit Firehouses. The shirts are available here (there are already 110 sold).

The NFE has unveiled the new web site DetroitMutualAid.com this morning. There you will find much more information on the program!

Be sure to keep up with the NFE via Facebook!

Sons of the Flag

The Sons of the Flag (SOTF) Burn Foundation has some huge news coming up in the next few weeks. I can’t spill the beans on what they are up to, but I suggest checking out their web site for more information SonsoftheFlag.org.

Give them a “like” on Facebook to keep up to date on the news!

Hosed

Hosed: The Movie has a Kickstarter campaign and hopes to reach $200k to begin pre-production on the movie. They have a lot going on, but the least you all could do is check them out and donate some money to get this movie off the ground. There are various levels of giving and you get something in return! You can give as little as $1.

Check out Hosed on Facebook as well!

Captain Wines was in the #Effingstache contest on the Hosed FB page. He didn’t win…That’s ok though. Lt. Jason Greer won by about 60 votes. In total, they had over 1900 votes each. Congrats Jason.

Follow me on Instagram @FireCritic. I am trying to come up with ideas to use on Instagram to make it more fun for all of us.
