WELLFORD, SC – Firefighters from several departments have been investigating a fire at Leigh Fibers on Syphrit Road in Wellford.
The call came in around 11:45 p.m. Monday. A 7 On Your Side photographer noticed a lot of smoke billowing from one side of the building.
Startex Assistant Fire Chief Barry Davis said fire was under control as of 3 a.m.
The fire was in the roof covering one department of the warehouse and factory.
