Raw Video: Apartment Fire in San Clemente

Firefighters seem to get a decent knockdown on this fire. There doesn’t appear to be much access to the building around the flames due to the buildings on each side.

This fire occurred on January 21st at 242 El Portal in San Clemente, California.

San Clemente Times:

A swift-moving, two-alarm blaze at 242 West El Portal ravaged the four-unit building and threatened nearby structures before firefighters stamped it out.

No one was injured in the fire that broke out shortly after 1 p.m., but residents home at the time were forced to rush from the building with the barest of belongings.

Seven fire engines and three trucks — loaded with some 40 firefighters — responded to the fire, said Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion of the Orange County Fire Authority.

The fire displaced six adults, two children and one iguana carried out in an aquarium by firefighters. Neighbors in the adjacent buildings were evacuated, but their structures did not appear to suffer any fire damage, said Captain Greg McKeown, the authority’s public information officer.
