Port Charlotte Firefighter Injured in Roof Collapse

PORT CHARLOTTE: Flames ripped through a Port Charlotte home overnight Wednesday, sending a firefighter to the hospital and leaving a family of three homeless.

Just before midnight, firefighters responded to the single-story fire located at 246 E. Tarpon Blvd NW.

When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen shooting out of the roof.

As crews tried to put out the blaze, part of the roof collapsed, injuring a firefighter.
