Fire Critic An Unadulterated View of the Fire Service
Check out this dramatic rescue by a good Samaritan at a raging fire at Wilcocks Hall at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). The rescue was made by Grant Leukus, a coordinator at the University. Grant stood outside of a window on the second floor and a woman stood on his shoulders after she climbed out of a third floor window. Grant was able to get her into the window on the second floor.
A fire has engulfed one of the buildings at Stellenbosch University.
Police officials and fire trucks cordoned off the Wilcocks Building on Van Ryneveld Street after the fire broke out around 4pm. Some of the university’s archives are stored in the building.
Eyewitness Gavin Blows said the building suddenly went up in flames.
